Dr. Bakshi is an agricultural graduate from PAU, with M.Sc. from IFTTC, CFTRI, Mysore & Ph. D from PAU, with post-graduate work in post-harvest management and value addition. The last two administrative positions held by him were that of Director Research, SKUAST-J, Jammu (On deputation from PAU) and as Head of the department of Food Science and Technology at PAU. He has vast international exposure. At CIMMYT, Mexico he worked with the team of noble laureate Dr. Norman E. Borlaug and world food Prize Winner Dr. E. Villegas on screening of early generation segregating materials of wheat & maize for quality. He also worked at NDSU (USA) through a World Bank Project on Participatory teaching & Research technology. At lsreal he gained work experience on various aspects of Food & Fruit processing. In recognition of his efforts he had been conferred three national awards including an ICAR team award for wheat improvement. He is presently a member of the research advisory council of CISH, Lucknow, NAARM, Hyderabad, FADC (Food & Agriculture Division Council).
